  1. Dampier floats like every single pass to the boundary, deep sideline, or deeper than like 15 yards over the middle. This Utah team is going to face more teams who are capable of taking away the run and forcing him to throw. And I don't trust them in those situations.

  2. The clock operator should be suspended for the last part of the game. I couldn't figure out how there was enough time to have to hike it on 4th down to run out all the clock, but then I saw the 1st & 10 play when Dampier waited as long as he could before kneeling and the clock stopped while he was still standing there. Horrible job.

  3. On October 25, 2026, Houston and Utah did not play each other in football. The two top-15 Big 12 contenders faced off late the previous evening, on Saturday, October 24, 2026, when the No. 10 Utah Utes rallied to defeat the No. 14 Houston Cougars 21-13. Because the game kicked off late and concluded just minutes before midnight in the Mountain Time Zone, many recaps and statistics were officially published on October 25. With the victory, Utah extended the nation’s longest active winning streak to 13 games and stood alone as the Big 12's final remaining undefeated team.

In front of Rice-Eccles Stadium’s 100th consecutive sellout crowd, Houston dictated the opening half with a physical rushing assault and disciplined defense. The Cougars took a 3-0 lead into the break and extended it to a 10-0 cushion early in the third quarter after a Makhi Hughes short touchdown plunge. Utah’s offense looked entirely stymied, with quarterback Devon Dampier tossing two critical interceptions that threatened to snap their perfect season.
However, Dampier completely took over the game with his legs in the fourth quarter. He orchestrated a furious 14-0 final-frame scoring run, bruising through Houston's defensive front to score two crucial rushing touchdowns. Trailing 21-13 in the final minutes, Houston drove deep into Utah territory with an opportunity to tie. The comeback attempt ended abruptly when Utah defender Jackson Bennee executed a clutch strip-sack on Houston quarterback Conner Weigman. Jireh Moe recovered the fumble for the Utes, securing the hard-fought top-15 victory.

  4. Conner isnt a bad QB, but he isnt great. Lot of comments dogging him, act like Utah is a bunch of benchwarmers, give yourselves credit but dont takeaway from Conner especially in a difficult enviornment. (Cold/electric crowd/etc.) Dont worry though, it aint like we have a red shirt freshmen 5 star #1 prospect on deck for next year…. See you then…
